Episode 2 of The Penny Jam features “Tried so Hard” by a band of siblings (Luke, Renia and Olaf) going by the name “The Good Ship Astoria.” Not coincidentally, they are all from the small Oregon town of Astoria, two of them now live in Portland. This was filmed in the back room of Crazy Carl’s Furniture and Rugs on 36th and Division, Carl was gracious enough to let us use the room on very short notice.
